🌱 What is EPD?

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a third-party verification report issued in accordance with the international standard ISO 14025 to disclose the environmental impact of a product throughout its life cycle. This document is typically based on a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and quantitatively describes the product's environmental footprint from raw material acquisition, production, use to disposal, including information on carbon emissions, water resource use, and energy consumption.

🧩 What is the relationship between EPD and LCA?

EPD is the publicly available format for LCA. Simply put, you must first complete a carbon footprint and environmental impact assessment of your product using professional tools (such as OneClick LCA) before you can generate an EPD report that is marketable and internationally certified. This report must be reviewed by a third-party verification agency to ensure its credibility and international usability.

🚀 Why do businesses need EPD?

  1. In order to seize more and more international green procurement and bidding opportunities, governments or large-scale construction projects in Europe, the United States and Japan have listed "having EPD certification" as a necessary condition for product selection.

  2. Enhancing Brand Sustainability and ESG Performance: Amid the ESG investment boom, EPD has become a key tool for revealing product sustainability performance, making companies more transparent and trustworthy in the supply chain.

  3. EPDs, manufactured in accordance with international standards such as ISO 14025 and EN15804, meet regulatory and standard requirements and can help companies quickly meet the building certification requirements of various countries (such as LEED, WELL, and BREEAM).

  4. With complete carbon emission and resource consumption data, companies can further plan low-carbon design, process improvement and net-zero strategies.

EPD is your passport to glabal green markets.
EPD holds a crucial position in the global green building materials market, showcasing a brand’s commitment to sustainability while reinforcing its professional and international image.
